NEWS
This years “Ken Jones Trophy Competition” was hosted by our President of Captains, Stephen Hazlitt and held at the lovely Bolton Old Links GC last Thursday. On a blustery day with plenty of showers thrown in for good measure, this was yet again, a tightly fought contest, between 48 Golfers (24 pairs) with the top 9 places only separated by 2 shots! The overall scoring was amazing in those conditions!

2026 INTER SOCIETY MATCH v BURY
would like to thank all our 26 players from the Bolton Captains Team, who played last Wednesday for their tremendous support in this annual event and their great efforts in trying to win the Challenge Trophy. Apart from that crazy 5 minutes of rainfall at 12noon :(, it was a lovely day and played on a nice “quirky”, but beautiful course in picturesque surroundings. The course was in great condition with excellent greens. The food and refreshments were also great. Our thanks goes to Greenmount GC, their staff, Greenkeepers, Bar Staff & Caterers for their excellent hospitality provided on the day.The match was played in tremendous spirit, with great company and it was a tightly fought affair! With 2 of the individual matches being halved, this match could have been anyones, but on the day, congratulations goes to the Society of Bury Captains for their overall victory of 7-6. A valiant effort from our Bolton Captains, well done.
